Today's Games To Watch (Cont.): The Crimson Tide Head To Starkville For An SEC Battle

#9 Michigan State (14-2, 4-0) at Northwestern (11-5, 1-3) – 3PM ET, BTN

It’s been a long, long time since the Spartans have lost. They’ve won at home, they’ve won on the road and it looks like they’re getting better and better with each game. Northwestern, on the other hand, is having one of their typical seasons, just not quite able to get over the hump versus good Big Ten Competition.

Prediction: Michigan State 75, Northwestern 68

Oklahoma State (8-7, 2-1) at Baylor (15-0, 3-0) – 3PM ET, ESPN2

Baylor has obviously handled all the challenges that have come their way this season, most recently winning at Kansas State by a bucket. The Cowboys have not been good this year, especially on the road. But, they have the talent to give the Bears a game if everything goes their way. Look for Baylor to remain undefeated, however.

Prediction: Baylor 72, Oklahoma State 61

Oregon (12-5, 3-2) at Arizona (12-5, 3-1) – 330PM ET, CBS

Here’s another evenly matched Pac-12 contest. The Ducks have been on a win-loss-win-loss basis with the rest of the conference, while the Cats have won 5 of their last 6 overall. The home team should have a slight advantage here.

Prediction: Arizona 64, Oregon 59

Iowa State (12-4, 2-1) at #12 Kansas (13-3, 3-0) – 4PM ET, ESPN3

The Jayhawks have won 6 straight since their surprising loss to Davidson. The supporting cast has started to assert themselves and give the beast known as Thomas Robinson some much needed help. The improved Cyclones had won seven in a row prior to a tough loss to Missouri Wednesday night. Winning in Lawrence will be a tough task for ISU, to say the least, but this shouldn’t be a cakewalk for Kansas.

Prediction: Kansas 77, Iowa State 70

#22 Alabama (13-3, 2-0) at #28 Mississippi State (14-3, 1-1) – 4PM ET, ESPN3

Very nice SEC match-up in this one. Both of these squads are looking to prove that they can challenge Kentucky for league supremacy. Bama has looked sharp of late, having won five straight. The Bulldogs have suffered a couple of setbacks recently, but are still very big and very dangerous.

Prediction: Alabama 68, Mississippi State 67

#11 UNLV (14-2, 0-0) at #22 San Diego State (12-2, 0-0) – 4PM ET, NBCS

These two teams start their Mountain West schedules in style, as two of the league’s best face off in the opener. Both teams have been munching on cupcakes for a few weeks, with the Aztecs taking it to an extreme. But, they will have to amp it up in a hurry, as this could be an up and down affair.

Prediction: UNLV 82, San Diego State 75
