Draymond Green Only Suffers Sprained Knee In Loss to Illinois

Good news for Michigan State this morning, as CBSSports.com is reporting that senior forward Draymond Green only suffered a sprain in his left knee in last night’s 42-41 loss to Illinois.

When the injury happened, it certainly looked like the kind that might end Green’s season for the Spartans. Especially considering that he left on crutches.

But luckily for Tom Izzo and company, Green should heal rather quickly and might even be available to play this weekend against Michigan.

Without Green, the Spartans are not the same team. It’s hard to argue that.

Michigan might have the edge heading in to Sunday’s matchup, simply because it’s hard to believe that Green will be at full strength if he does indeed play. With both teams tied for third in the Big Ten right now, it’s a huge game with a lot on the line.

With a trip to Ohio State and a visit from Wisconsin looming, the Spartans need this one. And so does Michigan, who has some business to take care of tonight with Indiana first.
