Alabama Head Coach Anthony Grant Suspends Three More

facebooktwitterreddit

As if Alabama’s fall from grace as one of the better teams in the SEC, if not entire country, wasn’t bad enough news for Crimson Tide fans, there’s now more to add to it.

After suspending Tony Mitchell several days ago, head coach Anthony Grant has also suspended JaMychal Green, Trevor Releford, and Andrew Steele from the team indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

Obviously, this is not what Grant needed right now.

After such a great start to the season, this team is no longer a lock to make the NCAA tournament and has some work left to do if they want to get in.

Keep in mind, that above statement was the case before the only three players with a double digit scoring average (Green, Mitchell, and Releford) were suspended. So you can just imagine how much more difficult that task will be now that those guys aren’t playing.

Alabama’s remaining schedule isn’t particularly easy, with homes games against the likes of Florida, Mississippi State, and well, we might as well add Tennessee to that list after they knocked off the Gators earlier today. They also have trips to Arkansas and Ole Miss, which are two tough places to play.

Crimson Tide fans better hope these players get their act together and get reinstated sooner rather than later. Because Alabama’s chances of making the Big Dance just got quite a bit tougher.
