Selection Sunday Preview: SEC

facebooktwitterreddit

Selection Sunday is finally here and we are rolling through the conferences to let you know what to expect this evening when the 2012 NCAA tournament bracket is announced.

Let’s take a quick look at what we’ll be seeing from the SEC:

IN

Vanderbilt – Finally showed their potential by knocking off Kentucky in the SEC final and could certainly make a Final Four run.

Kentucky – The Cats will still be the top overall seed in the NCAA tournament despite the loss to Vandy.

Florida – May be a notch below the previous two right now, but have the talent to make a deep run.

Alabama – Could find themselves in that 8/9 game.

BUBBLE

Mississippi State – The loss to Georgia in the first round of the SEC tourney really hurt their chances to get in.

Ole Miss – Had they beaten Vandy in the SEC semifinal, they likely would have been on the right side of the bubble.

Tennessee – Finished second in the league but a long shot at this point.

What are your thoughts on the SEC entering the 2012 NCAA tournament?
