Valpo looks like they’re wanting to keep this game under 30 points.

    • Blake

If Valpo scores 40, I’ll turn a few cartwheels.

  • BustingBrackets

Roosevelt Jones quietly pacing Butler. Clarke is way off, so the glue guy has had to pick up the scoring slack. Bulldogs have done a tremendous job blanketing Mike Muscala.

    • http://fansided.com/ Michael Castillo

Clarke looks like Michael Jordan circa 1987. He’s shooting everything.

  • Blake

I know a ton of people picked Bucknell, including myself. Seriously, what were we thinking picking against Brad Stevens? Lesson not learned.

    • http://fansided.com/ Michael Castillo

I picked them in every bracket I’ve done, just because you said they were going to win. Thanks, Blake.

      • Blake

Blake’s postseason prediction resume thus far: 0-4 in First Four games. Picked Tennessee to win NIT. Shoulda just picked all 16-seeds too.

  • John Mitchell

Valpo needs Bryce Drew to put on a pair of shorts.

    • Blake

Valpo needs an astronaut on the floor. Admittedly, I stole that from @sportsmatters on Twitter. He deserves the credit.

      • BustingBrackets

        That commercial is outstanding.

This comes down to what adjustments Bucknell makes at halftime. Can’t win with a 1/8 Muscala.

    • http://fansided.com/ Michael Castillo

14 points in a half ain’t gonna be anyone.

  • BustingBrackets

Is there a better strategist in college hoops than Brad Stevens?

    • Blake

I can’t think of anyone in terms of pure strategy. He’s phenomenal.

  • BustingBrackets

I’m reminded each time I watch Pitt what a flop Dante Taylor’s college career was. Until Khem Birch (now at UNLV), he was Pitt’s highest touted recruit ever. Never panned out. Love his energy though. Plays hard, competes and never folded despite temptations to cave.

  • BustingBrackets

The whistle in the background of the Pitt-Wichita State game is bothersome. Hope the fan/producer responsible for it is gone by halftime.

    • John Mitchell

      So is Doug Gottilieb’s commentary.

      • Blake

        +100000000

      • BustingBrackets

He does need a pause button. His voice is drowning out Spero Dedes (Play by play guy).

  • BustingBrackets

Joe Willman and Roosevelt Jones have both bailed out their respective team starts (Muscala and Clarke). Bison take first lead since the opening seconds.

    • Blake

This has turned into a basketball game. I’m not sure what that first half was, but it wasn’t a basketball game.

  • http://www.musketfire.com/ Joe Soriano

Speaking of low-scoring, how about Pitt and Wichita State? Didn’t expect much less from Pitt, but they’ve got to watch out. One Wichita State burst away from potentially laying an egg in the first round. Won’t be shocked (too easy?) to see Pitt lose here. And then I’ll probably smash my computer haha.

    • Blake

Pitt scares me worse than any team in the tournament. I feel that way every year.

      • John Mitchell

I have Pitt in the Elite Eight, so they’ll surely lose to Wichita State.

        • http://www.musketfire.com/ Joe Soriano

Haha, I have them going too far every year. Pitt scares me every year, which is why I have become such a pessimistic and stressed CBB fan.

          • Blake

And Pitt screws us all. Again.

    • BustingBrackets

The next time Pitt does something relevant in the tournament will be a first. Still think they win this game, though am not as optimistic as I was before the tip.

  • Blake

Oh look. New Mexico State only has 8 points with 8 minutes to go in the first half against Saint Louis. No one saw that coming…..

  • BustingBrackets

Kwamain Mitchell is so good. Don’t measure him by his player profile. Much better than the numbers indicate. Not a stat-padder, but gets big buckets. Doesn’t waste his scoring low-leverage spots.

  • BustingBrackets

This is why Davidson was a popular pick in the 14-3 game. Davidson was underseeded at 14, Marquette overseeded at 3. Wildcats can score on anyone.
