Playing in AAU basketball, players can form some pretty strong bonds to their teammates that can lead to dual commitments to schools. That could very well be the case for Expressions Elite teammates Abdul Malik Abu and Jared Terrell and if it is, it would mean great things for Providence.

Both recruits are listed in the ESPN top 100 for 2014, Abu at 44th and Terrell at 76th. The only schools left on their list they have in common is Providence. For Abu, his final four are UConn, Florida, NC State and Providence. As for Terrell, he has Cincinnati, Rhode Island, Oklahoma State and Providence.

Scout.com first confirmed that the recruits will announce their final decision in September in a joint presser. This has lead to speculation that they will be playing together in the NCAA but of course, this is only a rumor for the time being.

It is interesting to note that Terrell still has Rhode Island on his list after cutting some big names like UCLA, Florida and UConn. Rhode Island is sort of like a home time for the Massachusetts player and it would be a great steal for them if they could get a player of Terrell’s caliber.

For the time being, Providence fans can hold their breath and hope for the best until it comes time for the two players to announce their decision. If they were to commit together to the Friars, it could vault them more than a few positions in a lot of people’s minds and make them a pretty solid team for the 2015 season.
