The Jaquan Lyle and Cliff Alexander package appears to be coming to fruition rather quickly. As per Zags Blog, Lyle and Alexander are visiting Memphis together and both appear to be looking at Kansas as one of their more favorable options.

To add insult to injury for the Louisville brass, Alexander’s mother’s quote had to sting quite a bit. “[Cliff’s] been telling me that him and JaQuan Lyle are going to play together,” Alexander’s mother, Latillia, told SNY.tv Monday evening. “That’s the reason JaQuan Lyle decommitted.”

If this doesn’t sound a little suspect to people who have been following the situation, nothing will. The previous reasoning given for Lyle’s decommitment was that he felt he would not get enough court time behind Chris Jones. The quote from Alexander’s mom combined with Alexander’s tweet from two days ago saying that they were going to play together in college sure makes it sound like someone was circumventing NCAA rules while Lyle was still oficially commited to the Louisville Cardinals.

Both players will be at Memphis on October 18 and will have a chance to discuss their plans for the future. Word on Alexander is that he would like to make a decision in the fall but nothing has been set in stone yet. Once Alexander makes a decision it would seem like Lyle will also make his and at this point, it almost appears like a lock for them to be playing together once they hit the NCAA.
