According to multiple sources, sophomore center Willie Cauley-Stein has injured his right hand and will miss one to two weeks. The team is saying the injury was caused by a “basketball activity” on Friday, September 27.

Assuming that the Wildcats are not fudging their timetable for recovery, Cauley-Stein should not miss any game time and should be healed well before the start of the NCAA regular season. Kentucky’s season begins November 8th when they face off against UNC-Asheville.

While an injury is never good news, considering how much time there is until the start of the season and how minor it sounds, Cauley-Stein’s injury should not cause any cogs in the machine for the Wildcats. It is good to hear that Cauley-Stein hurt himself playing basketball and not for example, punching a fire extinguisher.
