Marcus Smart is one of the most dynamic players in all of college basketball. He is also the biggest reason why some think the Oklahoma State Cowboys are a legit contender to do damage come March.

All of that skill, talent and athleticism does come with great responsibility, however. Just like Spiderman, Marcus Smart needs to know when to use his powers for good and when to refrain from using it for bad. Okay, okay. Maybe not using it for bad, but certainly not to hang on rims and whatnot.

That was a pretty nasty dunk, but at what cost and was it worth it?

To better understand we should do a quick recap. Smart dunks, hangs, pulls, goes to floor with an apparent boo-boo, grabs head as referee is calling a technical, then has to sit on the bench for a large portion of the second half, all of which resulted in a loss to the Kansas State Wildcats, 74-71.

I don’t know if it would have been a different ending to the game had Smart not done any of that, but it’s a weird situation to even criticize or judge. Holding someone’s in-the-moment emotions against them isn’t exactly my style, but if we are all going to bring the hammer down on Dez Bryant, Smart should feel some kickback as well.

Regardless, it was just one moment from one game. It’s not as if this will determine the outcome of the fate of the human species or anything….

OR WILL IT?! DUH-DUH-DUUUNNNNN
