Happy Kentucky fan goes to Sad Kentucky fan (video)

The Kentucky Wildcats are having an up and down season. The kind of which that is pretty much expected from a team full of freshmen. Yet, it isn’t what people expect from a John Calipari led team. Cal using the excuse of their youth for Kentucky’s struggle is even funnier. Yeah, we get it, you are young because you recruit specifically to be that way.

Regardless on your feelings on the one-and-done rule, though, Kentucky fans have a different set of expectations for their program. One of them happens to be about not losing to teams like the LSU Tigers. Because, um, they are the gosh slam Kentucky Wildcats. However, some of that has changed as fans are starting to become a little more realistic as to what this year’s team can or cannot do.

A prime example is the following. Two videos. One of which shows a reasonable Kentucky fan discussing their prospects against the Tigers.

First, the happy but unnaturally tempered expectations:

That was some pretty decent insight, actually. He was realistic, honest and didn’t come off as that much of a homer. Although, that isn’t the video that you can put in a time-capsule and show humans in the future how Kentucky fans react.

He looks so sad. He is sad. He also has a disco ball or something above him. You know, while he is laying on a bean bag or something. He also has a Walking Dead graphic novel in close proximity to him. So, for that, he gets bonus cool points from me.

Again, nothing he said was incredibly unreasonable, harsh or anything that would remotely resemble the level of insanity some take their fandom to. He does look really sad, though.

Cheer up, kid. You clearly have an awesome life if you can have a disco ball, bean bag and a Walking Dead novel all at your disposal. Do you, man. Just do you. Kentucky will catch up sooner or later.
