Before we “narrow” the field to 64 teams, the 2014 NCAA Tournament will feature two games Tuesday and two more Wednesday, known the “First Four,” in Dayton. These games are recognized as first round games, which still seems strange. Here’s our First Four preview.
Now that the field is set, the University of Dayton Arena will play host to schools ranging from the Atlantic Coast Conference all the way to the Big West, from the America East to the SWAC. There’s a team six games below .500 and a teams nine games over .500. The tournament committee is an equal opportunity provider and doesn’t care where you’re located within the country. The one thing they are is generous by allowing us to take in her let’s us enjoy all 67 games of excitement played by 68 teams who’ve punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament.
It’s the official beginning to the time of year that college basketball fans have been waiting for since last summer — March Madness.
