  • Morgan thanked his family, teachers, coaches, and classmates before raising an IU shirt up to those in attendance, signalling his intention to join Tom Crean’s program next fall. Morgan chose the Hoosiers over Vanderbilt.

For Crean and Indiana, this is a big get. With big holes in the post this year, Morgan will be an instant-impact player. At 6’7″ and 205 pounds, Morgan is an athletic big man, which fits Crean’s mold. Often an up-and-down team, Crean often employs athletic post players as opposed to the traditional back-to-the-basket players.

Morgan is known for his work ethic and rebounding. While he still needs to further develop an offensive game, he is solid at scoring around the rim. His defensive game isn’t earth-shattering, but it’s developing.

This is Crean’s first recruit for the 2015 class, which will likely be focused on big men after they missed out entirely this season.
