Mickey Mitchell recommits to Ohio State Buckeyes

facebooktwitterreddit

The Ohio State Buckeyes received possibly a surprise commitment on Thursday when Mickey Mitchell recommited to Thad Matta’s program. Mitchell had decommited in late August and most thought the transfer of his brother Mike Mitchell from Ohio State signaled the end of his time as a future Buckeye.

However, on his Twitter account Thursday, the younger Mitchell announced his intention to rejoin Ohio State.

"After short consideration, The Ohio State University is the only place for me, staff & players are family. Can’t wait to get back! GO BUCKS!– Mickey Mitchell"

A consensus four-star small forward, Mitchell is ranked the #16 small forward by 247sports and #10 player out of the state of Texas. His commitment brings Ohio State’s class back to four recruits, joining Austin Grandstaff, Daniel Giddens, and A.J. Harris.

Already ranked the #6 class by ESPN and #7 by Rivals, the recommitment of Mitchell will further boost them, likely to a consensus top-five class.

Mitchell is a lefty who is better at creating for others rather than scoring himself, but is more known as a mixtape legend thanks to his high-flying and dazzling passes. Seriously, take a look at this mixtape and try not to be impressed.

Without a doubt, Mitchell should give fans in Columbus reason to get out of their seats.
