Here are the teams out of the Southeastern Conference that are either projected to make the NCAA tournament or are on the outside looking in. Some of these teams are a lock, while others still have work to do. By each team’s name, I will label them either as a lock or on the bubble. If you have some observations of your own, please feel free to comment.

No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats (30-0, 17-0) projected as a No. 1 seed – Lock

RPI: 1  SOS: 29

RPI TOP 25: 5-0

RPI TOP 50: 12-0

RPI Top 100: 20-0

The Kentucky Wildcats have yet to run into a team that’s ready to take them off their pedestal. On Tuesday night, the Georgia Bulldogs, behind their sold-out crowd, took it to Kentucky and led 62-56 with just over five minutes to go. From there, the Wildcats used 6-foot-11 Karl Anthony-Towns to rally and it worked. Towns scored all of his 19 points in the second half to help Kentucky stay undefeated, defeating the Bulldogs 72-64.

Aaron Harrison scored 16, while his brother, Andrew, finished with 12. LSU was in the same situation as Georgia at home, but couldn’t finish off the Wildcats. Maybe it’s meant for Kentucky to keep winning and dodging bullets. Well, their willingness to win in scary situations have the Wildcats safe for the NCAA tournament, despite what happens in the SEC tournament.
