More from NBA Draft News

Busting Brackets will be providing a series of Mock Drafts between today and the actual NBA Draft as we say goodbye to some of the stars that we thoroughly enjoyed covering, and prepare NBA fans to welcome the newest additions to their favorite teams. A new mock will appear after every key date in the draft process, starting with this mock draft, which comes in response to the passing of the NBA’s deadline for early entrants to declare for the draft. Mock drafts are also scheduled to post after the passing of the following key dates…

  • The NBA Draft Lottery – May 19th
  • The end of the NBA postseason – TBD
  • The eve of the NBA Draft – June 24th

Relevant events such as major trades or injuries may also lead to the creation of an updated mock as well. Enjoy the coverage, and welcome to the NBA’s third season, the one where 76ers fans actually get to feel good about themselves. Knicks fans, I wouldn’t get too comfortable, there’s still plenty of ways your team can screw this up.

*Until the NBA Draft Lottery, all mock draft orders will be based on a combination of regular season records and playoff results.

*Measurables provided by DraftExpress.com

86. The T-Wolves are solid at the center position thanks to Nikola Pekovic, which means Towns’ versatility makes him more valuable to the franchise. Towns has the ability to be the replacement for <strong><a href=. 7'0 248lbs - Center. Kentucky. Karl-Anthony Towns. 1. player

27. The Knicks can’t really go wrong with any selection in the top four, but this is the safest place for them to make a selection. The second slot gives them the opportunity to sit back, relax, and draft whichever stud the Timberwolves pass on.. 6'11 272lbs - Center. Duke. Jahlil Okafor. 2. player

The 76ers wouldn’t have traded <strong><a href=. 6'5 200lbs - Point Guard. China. Emmanuel Mudiay. 3. player. 93

The Lakers are in need of a lot of pieces, which means taking Russell is an easy decision. The best player on the board has to be the Lakers’ priority for every pick they make in this draft.. 6'5 200lbs - Point Guard. Ohio State. D'Angelo Russell. 4. player. 20

6'7 229lbs - Small Forward. Duke. Justise Winslow. 5. player. 38. Winslow is being hailed as the missing piece to what is turning into an impressive roster of talent in Orlando. The Magic don’t have a coach at the moment, but anybody can see that Winslow is the selection at five. If Winslow somehow ends up off the board, the Magic will probably eye <strong><a href=

67. The Kings have never put much talent next to <strong><a href=. 7'0 244 - Center. Kentucky. Willie Cauley-Stein. 6. player

73. The Nuggets desperately need to blow up their roster. They’re currently stuck with a nucleus that has a ceiling that spells out “first round playoff exit” in bold print. While Johnson doesn’t change those fortunes, he is definitely the type of defensive stalwart and athletic finisher that can be a key member of a championship team. The Nuggets should add Johnson and look for a true centerpiece by dangling assets like <strong><a href=. 6'8 243 - Small Forward. Arizona. Stanley Johnson. 7. player

Frank Kaminsky. 8. player. 64. The Pistons will likely be replacing <strong><a href=. 7'0 242 - Power Forward. Wisconsin

Mario Hezonja. 9. player. 170. The <strong><a href=. 6'8 200lbs - Guard/Forward. Croatia

While the emergence of <strong><a href=. 7'0 222lbs - Power Forward. Latvia. Kristaps Porzingis. 10. player. 110

6'10 250lbs - Power Forward. Kentucky. Trey Lyles. 11. player. 100. Lyles was quietly one of Kentucky’s most impressive players by the end of the season. He possesses a unique level of athleticism and driving skills for his size, which means he could be a matchup nightmare if used properly. <strong><a href=

118. The Jazz are very close to having a very distinguishable identity as a team, and Dekker could be that missing piece. Dante Exum may be a few years away from fulfilling his potential. Therefore, sliding Gordon Hayward to the two and inserting Dekker as a small forward could finally give the Jazz the right combination of weapons to contend for a playoff spot. Dekker and Hayward on the wings in Utah may very well be the definition of playing the right way. There’s no other draft marriage that I’m rooting for more than this one. . 6'9 229lbs - Small Forward. Wisconsin. Sam Dekker. 12. player

Kansas. Kelly Oubre Jr.. 13. player. 66. Everything about Oubre’s game hints at the fact that he will probably be better as a pro than he was at Kansas. Some players just aren’t wired to flourish at the college level, and Oubre seemed to be one of them. However, Phoenix projects as a perfect destination for a young athletic wing who can shoot the basketball and finish at the rim. The Suns have done wonders with Gerald Green, and they could potentially do the same with Oubre.. 6'7 204lbs - Small Forward

Devin Booker. 14. player. 149. The worst kept secret in this draft is that the Thunder need a shooting guard. <strong><a href=. 6'6 206lbs - Shooting Guard. Kentucky
