According to slamonline.com, DeMarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe both participated in a Birmingham, Alabama charity event and completely did some serious damage to the scoreboard.

If you let the Twitterverse tell it, Cousins and Bledsoe combined for 176 points in an exhibition event that pitted Cousins against Bledsoe in a rematch of their Alabama 5A State Championship semifinal game.

They played the charity game to benefit Eric Bledsoe’s “Back to School Rally” which Bledsoe uses to give out school supplies to local kids.

Of course there is no video as of right now, or any official box score to let the world know that DeMarcus Cousins dropped 91 points on the stat sheet and that Eric Bledsoe tried to combat that with 85 points of his own.

But the Twitterverse is an informed entity, so if it is said on Twitter, it must be true.

With as crazy a summer as it has been for DeMarcus Cousins, it probably felt great for him to get away from all the madness of NBA rumor and simply put on a show for his people in Alabama.

It is completely ridiculous that Sacramento Kings’ head coach George Karl actually feels like he can’t make it work with the best center in the NBA.

Then again it could all be some off-season drama to give NBA fans something to talk about.

“Boogie” and Eric Bledsoe are going to have to get in all the rest and relaxation that they can since the NBA camps are actually about two months away.

Both Cousins and Bledsoe are going to be playing with new teammates who are coming to their respective NBA teams out of Lexington this season with Willie Cauley-Stein set to join DeMarcus Cousins with the Sacramento Kings and Devin Booker joining Eric Bledsoe with the Phoenix Suns.

In fact, Devin Booker, Willie Cauley-Stein, Karl-Anthony Towns, Aaron and Andrew Harrison, Trey Lyles and Dakari Johnson, are all going to be Wildcats attempting to forge their NBA careers this coming fall.

It has been a big summer for Kentucky Wildcats fans, and with the recruiting class that is going to be coming in for UK, it should be a big 2015-16 season also.
