Coleman checks in as the nation’s 31st best high school senior, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is a consensus top 10 point guard in the senior class, according to multiple outlets.

Coleman is a fantastic true point guard and a numbers machine. In his three-year prep career, he posted over 1,200 points and nearly 1,000 assists. Last season, he averages 10.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.

More from Texas Longhorns

He is a incredible passer and facilitator. Coleman is also very flashy passer with phenomenal vision. He always finds ways to get his teammates involved.

As great of a passer as Coleman is, he isn’t the most impressive scorer, especially among the guards in the senior class. He drives to the bucket well, but doesn’t have the most reliable jump shot, especially from beyond the arc.

Coleman is the fourth 2017 prospect who has committed to Texas. Shaka Smart now has the nation’s No. 6 2017 recruiting class. The Longhorns have the best class in the Big 12 by a landslide.

Coleman joins 4-star power forward Jericho Sims, 4-star shooting guard Jase Febres, and 4-star power forward Royce Hamm.

Coleman’s announcement comes at the ideal time for the Longhorns, who are struggling significantly this year. The Longhorns are currently 7-10, and are second to last in the Big 12 standings.
