Indiana basketball sophomore forward, OG Anunoby, left the Hoosiers’ game against Penn State after suffering an apparent leg injury.

Indiana’s season may have suffered yet another blow.

On Wednesday night, Indiana sophomore forward OG Anunoby went down with an apparent right leg injury on a non-contact play against Penn State.

The play occurred in the first half when Anunoby crashed in the lane for a rebound before his leg buckled and he subsequently crashed to the floor. Anunoby had to be helped off the floor and to the locker room. He did not return to action.

The 6-8 sophomore from Jefferson City is averaging 11.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and is shooting 56.5 percent from the floor in 25.8 minutes per game. Anunoby is widely regarded as a potential NBA lottery pick. He spent some time coming off the bench this season but has also started some games for the Hoosiers. Anunoby recently was inserted back into the starting lineup following a Juwan Morgan injury that occurred against Rutgers last week.

Indiana has fought the injury bug for most of this year, as guard James Blackmon Jr. missed a few games due to a knee injury. Forwards Juwan Morgan and Anunoby have both missed action this year with shoulder and ankle injuries. Senior Collin Hartman has seen zero action this year with an undisclosed knee injury.

It is unclear of Anunoby’s timetable as there is no official word on his status. However, if he is indeed out for a significant amount of time, the 13-6 Hoosiers will miss him dearly.
