On Wednesday night in the ACC basketball league, the Duke Blue Devils will take on Syracuse in a match-up of ACC rivals

TV Schedule: Wednesday, Feb. 22, 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Arena: Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY

Prediction: Duke 82, Syracuse 75

Duke is rolling, there is no doubt about that. The Blue Devils have won seven straight and are starting to look like the team that everyone envisioned at the beginning of the year. They are quickly ascending in the polls after nearly falling out of them at one point in the season. Needless to say, this Blue Devils’ team is starting to look like a squad that no one wants to see come March.

Syracuse isn’t playing their best basketball as of late as they have dropped three straight against Pitt, Louisville, and Georgia Tech. The Orange struggle to stop most teams, giving up 70.3 points per game. This may be some cause for concern as they are about to face a Duke team averaging 81.9 points per contest.

Despite Syracuse’s recent skid and Duke’s recent rise, this game could be much closer than many predict. These teams have a history of great games and anything close to those fantastic match-ups isn’t out of the question by any means. Although Duke does seem to truly be peaking at the right time, the majority of their recent games have been closer than they are comfortable with.

Next: Projected field and a weekend summary

During Duke’s seven-game winning streak, the Blue Devils have won by an average of 6.4 points, with all but two ending in single-digit victories. This game may not be any different, but the Blue Devils should find a way to escape with a win.
