The Florida Gators made it to the Elite Eight last season thanks in part to the play of Devin Robinson. Can he now find a place in the NBA with the Washington Wizards?

For the fourth straight season, the Florida Gators did not have a player selected in the NBA Draft.

Despite this, Florida always seems to have a big name or two signed just after the conclusion of the second-round. One of these this season was Devin Robinson.

The 6’8, 200-pound forward out of Chesterfield, Virginia, averaged 11.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the Gators last season in just 26.4 minutes per game. More impressively, however, he averaged close to a block and a steal per game in those limited minutes. His defensive presence alone should be enough to make Wizards’ fans a little but excited to have signed him as a free agent.

It should also be noted that Washington only had one pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, so Robinson might as well be their second-round pick.

Robinson will more than likely not make the Wizards’ roster heading into next season, but he could find his way onto the squad with a couple of injuries or some major games in the D-League later on in the year.

His defensive presence is extremely valuable at the next level and, while he still has a lot of work to do, Robinson could find himself in a good position to spend a long time in the NBA.
