Two Villanova Wildcats will participate in the 2017 NBA Summer League, but where and for what team will they play?

After a phenomenal season that saw them win the Big East yet again, the Villanova Wildcats disappointingly lost out to the Wisconsin Badgers in the Round of 32 during the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

That being said, next year the Wildcats will be without a few of their key players, including Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins. Both Hart and Jenkins will participate in the 2017 NBA Summer League and will likely face each other as they both are playing in Vegas.

Josh Hart – Los Angeles Lakers

Hart was the No. 30 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and will play for the Los Angeles Lakers in the Vegas Summer League. The 6’5, 215-pound guard led the Wildcats in scoring last season with 18.7 points per game and should shine given the opportunity.

Kris Jenkins – Washington Wizards

Unlike Hart, Jenkins went undrafted. The 6’6, 235-pound forward averaged 13.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game over 31.1 minutes last season and has been a bit of a role player throughout his career. However, Jenkins’ consistency over the past two seasons has to be extremely attractive to the Wizards, and he stands a legitimate chance at making it at the next level.

Next: Where will former Wisconsin players play in the Summer League?

This season, it looks like there will be a lot of extremely talented former college basketball stars fighting for limited roster spots. While I expect Hart to find himself on the Lakers’ bench in the opening game, do not be surprised if Jenkins finds himself alternating between the G-League and the Wizards’ roster all year long.
