Villanova basketball, despite several key losses, looks poised to take the Big East once again this season. How might the Wildcats’ rotation shake out?

Villanova basketball is a national powerhouse. After two championships in three years, absolutely nobody should question this. Yet, after losing four tremendously important pieces to the NBA this offseason, people are bound to be skeptical once again. Obviously, it is never easy to lose four key components of a championship team but why would anyone count out Villanova at this point?

Head coach Jay Wright has proven time and time again that he is one of the best in the business and there is plenty of talent left on this roster. Most notably, Eric Paschall and Phil Booth are ready to take the reins as star players in their senior campaigns. In addition, the program landed the services of graduate transfer Joe Cremo (Albany) this offseason, meaning that the rotation will feature three seniors. With that, you can do away with the “inexperienced” narrative.

This doesn’t even mention the fact that the Wildcats are returning a ton of former highly-touted recruits who struggled to find consistent minutes due to the top-heavy nature of the team a year ago. With these players now poised to take on bigger roles and a top-10 recruiting class coming in, ‘Nova should once again be considered the favorite to win the Big East and a competitor for the national title. They might not be on the same level as some of the other ‘Nova teams of recent years but they will be deep, well-coached, and talented.

This article will break down my five projected starters for the team, the key reserves on the roster, as well as take a stab at the potential rotation in terms of a minutes distribution. Let’s get started.
