Butler basketball, despite losing two key pieces to graduation, looks poised for another solid year. What might be some potential strengths of the team?

There are a lot of questions facing the Big East this season. Just about every team lost a significant amount of talent from this past year and each team will struggle to make up for their respective losses at least in the short term. Because of this, the conference is one of the toughest to rank heading into this year. Quite honestly, almost every team in the conference can at least come up with a few reasons why they could compete near the top of the league this year. This includes Butler basketball.

Now in the second year under head coach LaVall Jordan, the Butler program looks to keep improving. Over the past several years, Butler has emerged as one of the most consistent teams in the country and there is no reason to believe that that will not continue. Even if preseason rankings come out for the conference and Butler is projected to finish in the bottom half, this would be no different from some years in the past when the team has exceeded expectations.

Heading into this season, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about Butler basketball. There is plenty of talent on the roster and the expectation is that the Bulldogs should reach the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive season. So, as the offseason continues to roll on, here is a look at three potential strengths for head coach LaVall Jordan’s team.
