LSU basketball head coach Will Wade is bringing in one of the best recruiting classes in the country. How will these players help the Tigers?

LSU basketball has not reached the NCAA Tournament in any of the last three seasons and has gone dancing just once in the last nine years. Yet, despite this, the future of the program looks extremely bright at the moment. For starters, head coach Will Wade is a rising star in the coaching ranks both on the court and on the recruiting trail. After a couple of successful seasons each at Chattanooga and VCU, Wade is now entering his second year at the helm of the Tigers program.

In his first year, the team improved by eight total wins and six conference wins from the year before and finished with an 18-15 (8-10 SEC) record. And even though this was not good enough to receive a bid to the NCAA Tournament, it was an improvement that should not be overlooked. Now, as we look ahead to the 2018-19 season, there are high hopes for the team that might just enter the year ranked in the preseason top-25.

This is due to the fact that, along with a bevy of returning talent, Coach Wade has the No. 4 ranked recruiting class in the country coming in. Yes, you read that correctly. Number four. This recruiting class, which features four top-100 freshmen and three JUCO transfers, only trails Duke, Kentucky, and Oregon in 247Sports Team Rankings for the 2018 class.

These players are all bound to make an impact on the LSU program, so let’s dive in and take a look at each.
