Recruiting is a mandatory part of every NCAA basketball program. With 2018 recruiting classes wrapped up, here are a few that have flown under-the-radar.

There is no “offseason” for NCAA basketball programs. Even though the teams might not be on the court battling it out, coaches around the nation are always on the lookout for potential stars. Because of this, recruiting is easily one of the most important aspects of building a successful NCAA basketball program and therefore the top classes receive a ton of attention.

Especially in today’s age of the “one-and-done”, the elite recruiting classes compiled by programs such as Duke and Kentucky make headlines almost 365 days per year. However, recruiting is important for every single program, not just the bluebloods that are hoping to keep their status at the top of the nation.

With this being said, some of the top under-the-radar recruiting classes deserve hype as well. Year in and year out, underrated recruits turn heads around the country while pushing their respective schools to the next level in their conferences or nationally. So, as we look ahead to this upcoming season, which underrated 2018 recruiting classes have the potential to make major impacts on their respective schools?

(Note: It is important to mention that this is an opinion piece. The recruiting classes discussed in this piece were selected based on my thoughts of their potential impact vs. their overall hype heading into the season. Programs who landed top-25 recruiting classes were not considered. The order of this list is based on 247Sports Team Rankings.)
