Xavier Basketball grabbed a major commitment on Friday evening as Dahmir Bishop committed to the Musketeers. How does this Top 150 talent fit on next season’s Xavier squad?

Xavier’s fourth commitment in the Class of 2019 could be their most important one. Dahmir Bishop, a 6’4” shooting guard from Philadelphia, announced his commitment to the Musketeer program on Friday. This currently gives Xavier the 4th ranked 2019 recruiting class, only behind USC, Kentucky, and Villanova, although this ranking will drop once more highly ranked players come off the board.

Bishop is a smooth player who can score at all three levels. He is most dangerous from beyond the arc, but can also put the ball on the floor and break down the defense. After Elias King backed off his commitment, it was imperative that Xavier secured a perimeter shot maker in this class. Bishop certainly fits that mold and he could earn a consistent place in the rotation as a freshman.

Even though Bishop is likely to see immediate playing time, he will have to compete with multiple returning players. Quentin Goodin and Paul Scruggs are locked into the two guard positions and Naji Marshall will likely start at the three or the four.
