Maryland Basketball lost a lot of talent to the NBA and graduation but their new talent showed promise last season. Here is a look at the potential starters and reserves for the 2018-19 season.

Maryland Basketball went 19-13 (8-10 Big Ten) last year. Their good play on both ends of the floor early in the season came by way of then newcomers Bruno Fernando (10.3 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game) and Daryll Morsell (8.7 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game). Fernando brought toughness, flare, and hustle on the court. Morsell was able to make plays in transition and in the half court on both ends.

We can’t forget about Kevin Heurter (14.8 points per game, five rebounds per game, 3.4 assists per game). The Red Mamba as he was called. Huerter was the second leading scorer and assist man for Maryland Basketball last season. He was known for his sharpshooting ability that got Maryland out of jams late in games. This ultimately is what propelled him to be drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round (19th overall).

He made the decision to go to the next level leaving Anthony Cowan Jr. as the undisputed leader and floor general for the Terps this season.

What was Maryland’s problem last season? The road. specifically defense on the road. It’s very important this season that they clean that up.

December was a hot month for them last year as they won seven games straight before enduring a roller coaster of sorts in the win/loss columns.

I’m going to take a look at who could start, who comes off the bench and the minutes in this analysis of the roster rotation for the 2018-19 Maryland Basketball team.
