Conference play is just days away in Big 12 Basketball, and it’s time to look at where each of the ten teams stand after non-conference play.

With the exception of Kansas, things have went quite a bit differently than expected for Big 12 Basketball. Kansas State, TCU and West Virginia, three teams that started the season ranked in the top-25, are no longer ranked.

However, Oklahoma, who did not start the season on the radar of really anybody, are currently ranked in the Top-25, and look like a real contender in the Big 12.

Texas Tech has been much better than expected, TCU and Iowa State have been solid, and as expected, Baylor and Oklahoma State are in a battle for the cellar heading into the New Year.

While Kansas hasn’t budged as the top team in the Big 12 in terms of rankings in the top-25, the performance of several Big 12 teams has left some doubt in the ability of Kansas to continue their dominance in the Big 12 in 2019.

The Big 12, as usual, is a very deep conference this year. While Texas Tech might look like the only challenger at the top, the Big 12 again has the potential to field anywhere from six to eight NCAA tournament teams.

We’ll get to where each team ranks in a bit, but one thing is certain; if there was ever a season in which there is a legitimate chance of Kansas being dethroned, it’s this one.

The overall depth of the conference, and the potential of the other top teams pose a serious threat to Kansas, who despite having just one loss all year, are certainly not nearly as strong as in recent years.

Let’s take a look at where each of the ten teams rank heading into conference play.
