Marquette Basketball will head to Washington D.C. to take on the Georgetown Hoyas in a Big East battle on Tuesday night. Here are there storylines to watch.

Two weeks into conference play, and the Big East has been a whole lot of fun.

Big shots, close games, and surprise teams and upsets have defined the opening weeks of Big East basketball in 2019, a theme that certainly serves are prime entertainment for us fans.

Two of the teams right in the middle of the fun are Marquette and Georgetown. The Golden Eagles are the #15 team in the country, and are perhaps the front-runner to win the Big East.

Meanwhile in Georgetown, the Hoyas have had an exciting start to Big East play, coming out on the winning end and losing end of a pair of thrillers in back-to-back weekends.

Tuesday’s battle should be no different. Two high-scoring teams filled with both veteran and young experience, Marquette and Georgetown should combine for an exciting, fast-past battle of the Big East’s best.

While Marquette is fighting for a spot amongst the top-10, Georgetown is fighting for their life in the NCAA tournament race. The Hoyas certainly don’t lack excitement, but their inconsistency has been their achilles heel, and Tuesday will prove as a major challenge for a young, streaky team.

Regardless, Marquette and Georgetown head into Tuesday’s game on a red hot streak. The Golden Eagles have won three in a row, while the Hoyas are coming off of a double overtime battle in which they came out on top against a good Providence team.

Let’s take a look at three storylines that should rule Tuesday’s matchup. From elite freshmen to top-notch scorers, Marquette-Georgetown should have it all.
