The Big 12 Basketball season has come to an end and now the focus shifts to the NCAA Tournament. Here we take a look at where each team under consideration will end up when the bracket is announced.

The Big 12 Basketball season was a big success with many exciting moments. We saw the Kansas Jayhawks Big 12 regular season title streak come to an end as Kansas State and Texas Tech both finished 14-4 to earn a share.

A large portion of the season we had eight of the ten teams projected to be in the field. Some bad play from a few teams has the seed lines and even their at large chances changing in a big way. Oklahoma State and West Virginia are the only two teams not being considered. They dealt with a lot of drama this season but some good play to end the season has both squads looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament next season.

All of the other eight teams will be watching the selection show in some capacity. Some teams know they’re in but they want to know their opponents and the location. The location can play a big part in how a team does. The Midwest regional is in Kansas City, Missouri at the Sprint Center at the same place the Big 12 Tournament was. Kansas and Kansas State would be ecstatic if they were to be selected into that region.

To get to the regional though you have to win two games which is hard to do in this tournament. Getting a favorable first location can be very beneficial as well. A few of these Big 12 teams would prefer to play in Tulsa rather than having to go somewhere farther away such as San Jose, or Jacksonville. The top seeds do get the first nods to their respective sites.

No matter where you’re playing you have to play well or you will go home early. You’d prefer a close site but no matter where you’re at you must play your best basketball to advance. The Big 12 is likely looking at least six teams getting in with two other teams being considered. Those two teams will be very nervous up until the Selection show but it’s their own fault they’re in this situation. They’re good teams but they didn’t take care of business when they needed too.

NOTE: NET Rankings are from Saturday, March 16th so teams could be ranked slightly different in Sunday’s rankings.
