Georgia Tech Basketball had a down year under head coach Josh Pastner. There’s time to recover on the recruiting trail, though.

Georgia Tech Basketball didn’t have a memorable season, but they had their moments in 2018-19. They finished 14-18 on the year, 6-12 in the ACC last season and expectations will be a bit higher as head coach Josh Pastner’s seat continues to warm up.

The Yellow Jackets had stalled out as a program from a success standpoint. In 2017-18, they posted a record of 13-19. Now, entering Year 4, Pastner has to show he’s turned a corner on the hardwood.

Freshman Michael Devoe had a productive first season, averaging 9.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game on 39.3 percent shooting from 3-point range. Devoe elevated his play a bit in ACC action which should help in 2019-20.

One thing that hurts is the departure of Curtis Haywood II, who opted to transfer out of the program. Haywood II produced averaged 5.6 points, two assists and 1.2 steals per game in 2018-19 on 27.6 percent shooting from behind the arc.

There’s been some good and some bad for the Yellow Jackets with a new season approaching. Here’s a look at the 2019 recruiting outlook for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
