Kerry Blackshear is arguably the top NCAA Basketball transfer this offseason? Which teams would make the most sense for him to land at?

Virginia Tech had a very successful NCAA Basketball, finishing with 26 wins and making it the Sweet 16 for just the second time in school history (1st since 1967). One of the key players for the Hokies was Kerry Blackshear Jr. who averaged 14.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 2.4 apg in 30 mpg.

The junior would’ve probably remained at Virginia Tech for his senior season if it wasn’t for head coach Buzz Williams opting to leave for the Texas A&M job. That triggered an exodus of the remaining Hokies, with Blackshear heading to the transfer portal.

With over 700 NCAA Basketball already in the portal, the rising senior ranks as one of the best available. The All-ACC performer was one of the best all-around big men in the country this past season and did it in arguably the top basketball conference. He’s even expanded his range, making a career-high 21 three-pointers.

Whether it’s as a traditional post player or a pick and pop threat, Blackshear would start on 98% of teams in college basketball. Add to it that he’ll be eligible immediately to play as a graduate transfer and teams are fighting to be a legit option for him.

Although there hasn’t been a clear list of teams that Blackshear is interested in, some have been getting mentioned on the rumor mill. Some make more sense than others considering the demand a talented and experienced big man has as a transfer.

For this article, I’m going to take a look at five legitimate options for Blackshear to pick from. Not only are these teams viewed as viable contenders for the 2019-20 already, they still could use a player like Blackshear and have a big role for him.
