Georgia Tech Basketball is setting their sights on Euroleague seven footer Quinten Post for the 2019 recruiting class.

Since Josh Pastner took over the Georgia Tech Basketball program he has cast a wide net in his recruiting efforts. It has been a different experience for Georgia Tech fans watching their coach basically use scholarship offers as ice breakers. That isn’t something we saw in previous regimes as sometimes it seemed as if the Yellow Jackets were offering very late in the process or even after recruits had named their final eight or even final five. Pastner and assistant coach Eric Reveno have made it no secret that they are combing the Euro Leagues for recruits as well. One such recruit, 7’0 Dutch forward Quinten Post, was on campus at the Georgia Tech baseball game this past weekend.

Coach Reveno has been making in-roads for Georgia Tech since joining Pastner’s staff in 2016. You may recall that the Yellow Jackets were in play for two Euro big men, Alessandro Lever and Roberts Blumbergs, during the 2017 cycle. Both players ultimately ended up at Grand Canyon.

Post, a 7’0, 200-pound stretch four, is definitely a project, but there is chatter that his upside is tremendous. Outside of a few grainy YouTube videos, I was unable to find much information on Post so I contacted David Hein to see if he could provide any solid information. Here is what he was able to provide:

Quinten played in the third division of Pro B with Lokomotive Bernau and averaged 4.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in just a shade under 10 minutes per game. He then went to division four and played for Berlin’s second team in Regionalliga where he averaged 15.8 points and 6.8 rebounds in a little over 21 minutes per game. He shot roughly 52% from two and 39% from deep.

Minutes were hard to come by for Post on the Pro B team as that group sported frontcourt players Franz Wagner (former Michigan star Mo Wagner’s brother) as well as Kresimir Nikic who is believed to have a very bright future.

The move to Regionalliga meant that he was playing with kids two years his junior, but the league is said to be extremely talented.

Quinten Post is originally from the Netherlands and has played with Apollo Amsterdam since 2011. One of his former teammates is Jesse Edwards, who you may recognize as a former Georgia Tech target and Syracuse commit.

Post’s coach, Josef Dubilic, is quoted saying: “Quinten is a stretch 4, good size, really good shot. His biggest weakness is his understanding of the game. He needs to put a lot of work into it.” Apparently, the level of competition was lacking before Post arrived in Germany.

I think it is safe to say that this is a project worth taking on, the young man is certainly talented and we all know that Coach Rev is a grandmaster in development.
