The 2019 NBA Draft is approaching and there are several NCAA Basketball players with high ceilings. But which of them also have very low floors?

Looking back at the 2018 NBA Draft, there were a few NCAA Basketball players whose stocks were considered controversial. Depending on where they were projected to be selected at, there were concerns about whether that pick would be worth it for some teams.

The biggest example was Trae Young, a point guard who shattered the record books at Oklahoma before going pro. However, there were a lot of naysayers about how his game would translate to the NBA, with some predicting that he would a bust as a top-5 draft pick.

That didn’t happen, with Young going for 19.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 8.1 apg in his rookie season with the Atlanta Hawks. He was named to the All-NBA Rookie Team and was considered along with Luka Doncic to be the best freshman in the league this past season.

When it comes to the upcoming 2019 NBA Draft, there are several players in a similar perceived situation like Young was in. Some of these players are former five-star recruits who had their fair share of ups and downs this past NCAA Basketball season. But even with their flaws, their “ceilings” may just be too good to pass up for in this draft.

After the likely trio of Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, and RJ Barrett going in the first three selections, No. 4 onward features a lot of players whose NBA careers could go a number of ways. Here’s a look at five guys that have – and will be fairly critiqued early on in the NBA.
