The Phoenix Suns have an early second round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Which potential impact players can they select at this point?

With a new front office and new head coach, the Phoenix Suns hope to end their extreme losing ways, starting with the upcoming NBA Draft. They have a pair of picks, one in each round to try and jumpstart another rebuild.

As far as their pick at No. 6 overall, Phoenix plans on taking a guard – preferably a lead ball handler to pair up with star Devin Booker. The point guard position has been an obvious weak spot for the Suns for the past few years after Isaiah Thomas, Eric Bledsoe, and Goran Dragic departed the franchise. Coby White and Darius Garland are the likely options at No. 6, with the team having a good chance of landing either of them.

Even if they get what they want in the first round, Phoenix still has plenty of work to do. Coming off of a 19-63 total record, there are still areas of depth that still need to be filled. Whether in the frontcourt, backcourt, or wing positions, the Suns could still use an impact player at the No. 32 pick in the draft.

Last year, the team drafted Elie Okobo at No. 31. He’s a 6’3 guard from France who averaged 5.7 ppg and 2.4 apg in 53 games played, 16 of them starting. It was a solid first-year campaign for the reserve but the Suns could use some more help. There are some projected first round players who’ll slide into the second round, so Phoenix could land some real talent that’ll make a difference in the future. Who are the best options for them to take?
