Gonzaga guard Zach Norvell, Jr. is a projected second-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Which teams are the best fit for the three-point specialist?

Many Gonzaga fans were surprised to hear that redshirt sophomore guard Zach Norvell, Jr. was foregoing the rest of his college eligibility to enter the 2019 NBA Draft. Norvell was a big piece of Gonzaga’s offense last year, but his return would have made him the focal point and almost certainly would have seen him boost his total numbers as the team leader in nearly every way.

However, Norvell decided to pursue the professional route, and his strong performances during workouts has vaulted his name up draft boards and onto multiple team’s radars just ahead of draft day.

Like many of the Gonzaga draft hopefuls, Norvell is a polarizing player for scouts and analysts to evaluate. Some have him going as high as the late-first round, while others don’t think he will get picked at all.

Ultimately, his ability to succeed in the NBA will come down to consistency beyond the arc and defensive discipline – along with perhaps the most important factor – which team he ends up on.

All NBA teams are looking to add three-point specialists to the end of their bench, that’s no secret. However, finding the right match for Norvell isn’t quite that simple. That team will need to be able to be patient with Norvell, while also having plenty of ball-handling and defensive-minded guards around him in order to avoid exposing him while he’s on the court.

Here are three teams that could be good fits for Norvell, and how they could end up with him next season.
