With some impressive new recruits coming to Big Ten Basketball, let’s take a closer look at some of the impact players for next season in this conference.

There have been a number of impressive teams in Big Ten Basketball over the years, but this is a conference that hasn’t won a national title since 2000. Half a dozen programs have played in the title game, but nobody since that Michigan State squad has brought a title to this power conference.

Fortunately, this league may have a few real contenders this upcoming season, punctuated by Michigan State, early favorites for the title. Maryland is expected to have a great year next season, while even teams like Illinois and Nebraska are finding their way back to relevance. Teams like Northwestern, Penn State, and Rutgers have failed to achieve consistency in recent years, but hope springs eternal in the Big Ten. The arrival of Fred Hoiberg sparks momentum for the Cornhuskers while Indiana and Ohio State continued to grow under third-year head coaches.

Moving forward, there has been a definite need for each of these programs to bring in top-level recruits to elevate their programs. Without a doubt, there’s some impressive talent headed to the Big Ten, with a bevy of programs nabbing some quality recruits. Expectations will be raised for some of these programs and we’re headed towards another exciting Big Ten season.

There are certainly favorites in the Big Ten, but this is a league where any team can make a run in March Madness with the right roster.

Without further ado, let’s start going through some of these new recruits and seeing the talent that’s about to impact the Big Ten this upcoming season.
