The 2019 recruiting classes are once again at a high level for ACC Basketball. What are the biggest takeaways from the 14 teams and their newcomers?

ACC Basketball is arguably the most competitive brand of college basketball, especially at the very top. With programs such as Duke, North Carolina and now the reigning national champions Virginia, teams in the middle and the bottom has to continue to get better. One way is by having quality recruiting classes and developing over time.

But that’s hard to do when the blue bloods continue to bring in all the best players. Both the Blue Devils and Tar Heels each bring in multiple five-star prospects and overall have top-10 overall classes. Louisville and Florida State also bring in a five-star player, including small forward Patrick Williams heading to the Seminoles. Virginia lost a lot of talent but brings in a few intriguing recruits including four-star Casey Morsell and big man Kadin Shedrick.

Each ACC Basketball program brings in at least two commits in the 2019 class. And with so many departures from either graduations, transfers or entering the NBA Draft early, look for a lot of these players to make an immediate impact. And for some of the teams in the bottom half of the league, the hope is that a diamond in the rough was found. Otherwise, some coaches may be out of a job.

There are many takeaways from this incoming group of freshmen for ACC Basketball. Using 247sportsComposite as a guide, here are the five things I took away.
