One of the more competitive leagues from top to bottom, Big 12 Basketball is the focus of Busting Brackets latest podcast episode.

For our latest Busting Brackets podcast, Zach Stearman and Jason Kinander join regular hosts Connor Hope and Brian Rauf to discuss everything about Big 12 Basketball. It’s the first time in over a decade that we enter a season without the Kansas Jayhawks being the reigning regular-season champion the year prior, with both Texas Tech and Kansas State dethroning them.

The guys first take a look at the national runner-up Red Raiders, who has to replace a ton of production from their starting lineup. Who’s ready to take over for Chris Beard’s team? If not, the Jayhawks could end up back in first in Big 12 Basketball. The guys have an in-depth discussion about Kansas and their roster, looking at both their strengths and weaknesses.

We know who’s projected to be at the top of the Big 12 next season but the middle-tier looks to be jumbled up. Kansas State may have lost the most production from their team last season and are expected to take a step back, while TCU’s roster has many unknowns after losing several players to the transfer market. What are their expectations for when it comes to the NCAA Tournament? The Oklahoma schools also get talked about and whether they can escape the bottom of the league or not.

“Expectations” is the keyword for the Texas Longhorns after missing out on the NCAA Tournament last season. Head coach Shaka Smart may be on hot seat for this season if things don’t go their way in 2020. Who are the key guys that’ll lead Texas back towards the top of the Big 12? West Virginia also missed out on the Big Dance last season as well; how high are the guys on the Mountaineers?

One of our guys is really high on the Baylor Bears, who have as good a roster as they’ve had in recent years. Find out where he has them placed in the Big 12 (hint: it’s at least top-2 good). Iowa State is the last individual team to get brought out, with a number of opinions surrounding them after roster changes. Do the guys have the Cyclones as a top or bottom-half team in the conference?

To round out the podcast, the guys list how many Big 12 Basketball teams are projected to make the 2020 NCAA Tournament, along with who’s most likely to make a run to the Final Four. Find out their breakout players, rankings and bold predictions. Thanks for tuning in and watch out for our latest podcast episodes as we continue previewing the season.
