Nimari Burnett is soon to make a decision on his NCAA Basketball home. How do his four finalists stand out against each other?

When it comes to the traditional five-star NCAA Basketball prospects, almost always are the Dukes and Kentuckys of the world are involved. But there are a few recruits who tend to buck from those trends. Nimari Burnett is one of those in the 2020 recruiting class, ranked as a consensus top-30 overall prospect and listed as a five-star according to 247sportsComposite.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Burnett has been dominating out west as Prolfifc Prep, having numerous notable performances that helped put him on the national stage. At 6’3, Burnett is a combo guard that thrives in transition and can score in a variety of ways. He can play both guard positions without giving anything up on the defensive end and can facilitate the offense as the lead playmaker. He may not have the ceiling of fellow 2020 guards Jalen Green or Joshua Christopher but this is a multi-year asset for whichever program Burnett chooses.

At one point, it figured that the Louisville Cardinals were the odds-on favorites to land Burnett. They were in the mix for everyone and was in his final five list. But in a bit of a shock, the recruit left off the ACC program in favor of four others – Alabama, Texas Tech, Michigan and Oregon. While none of these teams are as traditionally good as Duke and Kentucky, each has respective bright futures as programs going forward.

It’ll be even brighter if they can land Burnett, who seemingly could go to any of them when he makes his decision on Tuesday. All four have something different to offer and have their own pros and cons at the moment. Here’s a look at each potential situation as it pertains to the five-star prospect.
