This week’s edition of the 2020 bracketology projected field showcases a number of shifts. Virginia Tech and Wisconsin are among the risers.

Another week has passed and here comes a new edition of my bracketology projected field. With Top 10 teams dropping like flies over the past few days, you would expect several changes near the top of the bracket but that wasn’t necessarily the case. Considering the resumes of those top squads and the fact that one loss does not offset two months of hard work, most teams did not fall more than one seed line near the top. With that said, though, there were still several risers and fallers amongst the 68 teams.

Perhaps most notably, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech continued their surprising rises up the seed list. Both teams belong in the No. 5-9 seed range right now, in my opinion, and that is not something that many expected to occur this season. The Badgers were once sitting at 5-5 this season with hope dwindling. The Hokies, on the other hand, are exceeding low expectations with a great season so far.

In terms of the biggest fallers, Arizona and Kentucky continue to hold seeds far below their talent level. For the former Wildcats, this is due to their complete lack of quality wins while the latter Wildcats have suffered three questionable losses to cause a bit of a tumble compared to what one would expect. It is reasonable to think that both teams will find their rhythm down the stretch but have simply not put together strong resumes thus far. The same could also be said about Texas Tech and Purdue.

Now, without any further ado, let’s dive into my bracketology projected field for this week, complete with an impressive number of squads from the Big Ten.
