NCAA Basketball top-tier transfer Landers Nolley is down to a final group of three. Which of them is the best landing spot for the guard?

There have been a number of NCAA Basketball transfers come and gone through the portal in the past month. Plenty has already picked a new team for the 2020-21 season, while Landers Nolley remains on the market.

Coming off a redshirt freshman campaign of averaging 15.8 ppg and 5.5 rpg on 37% (32% from three-point range) from the field, Nolley elected to leave Virginia Tech. Once into the portal, the All-ACC freshman got a huge number of offers. A couple of weeks ago, Nolley came out with an initial list of 11 teams in the running. That number raised to 12 with the inclusion of the Georgia Bulldogs, who became involved as the hometown option.

A lot has happened in the past two weeks, with several teams originally involved with Nolley landing other transfers, both of the grad and traditional sit-out variety. That in itself is a blurry process, as the NCAA is in the discussion of giving all players a free first-time transfer option, which may or may not impact this group this offseason.

On Friday, the 6’7 scoring guard lowered his list of options down to three; Georgia, Memphis and Ole Miss. This came as a bit of a surprise to me, considering that programs such as UConn, Seton Hall and Texas Tech seemed like ideal fits for Nolley. Still, this is an intriguing trio that is one step away from grabbing a power conference talent who can lead a given team in scoring.

So who’s a better fit for Nolley at this point? I’ll be providing an updated look at each team, given both pros and cons as to why the former Virginia Tech guard should pick them.
