UConn Basketball had a few commits in the class of 2020 rise in the latest 24/7 rankings released Wednesday. Here’s where their recruits rank and where the Huskies sit as an overall class.

UConn basketball is bringing in three freshmen next season with the recent addition of Adama Sanogo and two of those three got a rankings boost in this most recent 24/7 rankings release.

With the additions of Jackson, Sanogo, and Brown-Ferguson UConn came in at 17th in the country as a class giving the Huskies their second straight top 20 recruiting class.

Andre Jackson (Four Star, 53rd)

Andre Jackson catapulted up the newly released ranking list moving from 70 to 53. Andre Jackson is the highest-rated recruit for the Huskies in this 2020 class. Jackson hails from Albany, New York, and is the third highest-rated recruit from the state in 2020.

Jackson is a freakish athlete with a decent outside shot. At 6-6 he’s got good size, he originally committed to UConn back in the fall over Syracuse. Jackson is expected to be an instant impact player and future star for the Huskies.

Adama Sanogo (Four Star, 55th)

Adama Sanogo joined the Huskies this past Tuesday after reclassifying from the 2021 class. Sanogo made his debut for the most recent 2020 rankings at 55 just behind future teammate Andre Jackson. Sanogo is a forward/center that played his high school basketball at The Patrick School in New Jersey.

Sanogo is a skilled big man who has a soft touch around the rim and is a menace on the boards. He chose the Huskies over the likes of Maryland and Seton Hall. Sanogo said shortly after committing to UConn, “I picked UConn because I love UConn”. He should be a force in the Big East right out of the gate.

Javonte Brown-Ferguson (3 Star, 162nd)

Not a lot of love for Canadian big man Javonte Brown-Ferguson in the most recent 24/7 rankings. He falls two spots from 160. Brown-Ferguson is a three-star recruit that committed to UConn back in November of 2019.

UConn has somewhat of a crowded frontcourt this season but Brown-Ferguson adds good depth that is capable of playing immediately. He has great size and does well to run the floor, he can stretch defenses with his ability to knock down a jump shot. He has a lot of raw talent.

Dan Hurley has been on fire this spring with recruiting getting both Sanogo and Rhode Island transfer Tyrese Martin. UConn is building itself back up to national relevance as they prepare for their upcoming season in the Big East. The rebuild is coming along very nicely.
