Donnie Tillman is looking for his third NCAA Basketball program this offseason. Which teams will be in play for the UNLV transfer?

There are still some NCAA Basketball transfers remaining in the portal who can have a big impact on whichever program they land at. One of them is Donnie Tillman, a 6’7 combo forward who started out his career at the University of Utah.

As a freshman, Tillman had an immediate impact with the Utes, averaging 7.8 ppg and 4.8 rpg in 20 mpg off the bench. His production slightly rose in his sophomore season, going for 10.5 ppg and 5.3 rpg, while starting half of the games that season.

But the forward was looking for something different, which is why he left for the UNLV Rebels, who were starting anew under former South Dakota State head coach T.J. Otzelberger.

Unfortunately for Tillman, things were pretty much the same for him compared to Utah. He came off the bench more times than he started and was part of massive turnover in the lineup with so many moving parts. He also had disciplinary issues towards the end of the season so his departure from the program was not unexpected.

Since he got a waiver to play immediately this past season at UNLV, the odds are likely that he’ll have to sit out next year, making him a “sit one-play one” transfer. With the now discipline issues on the record and preferably wanting to start, it may take a while before Tillman finds a landing spot.

But for a versatile wing who averages nearly 16 ppg per 40 minutes throughout his college career, Tillman has proven to be an impactful player at the power conference level. For teams who have missed out on wings this offseason, there may be some who are willing to take a flyer out on the UNLV/Utah forward. Here are six programs I think could be a realistic fit for Tillman.
