2021 4-star point guard Daeshun Ruffin cut his list of schools to six on Sunday evening. Which NCAA Basketball will land the top-50 recruit?

The consensus top-40 NCAA Basketball recruit is approaching a final decision on where he will be playing college basketball. Making it an All-SEC affair, Daeshun Ruffin will pick between Florida, Mississippi State, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss and Auburn. At 25.8 PPG, the MEBO Team Hood point guard was the EYBL’s third-leading scorer behind LSU’s Cam Thomas and NBA Draft entrant Josh Hall.

Ruffin has dipped a little in the rankings over the last year, largely due to his height. At 5’9” he doesn’t have the stature most Power 5 teams desire, however, his physicality and ability to score the ball at a high rate is too good for teams to stay away. Playing bigger than his size, Ruffin is an elite setup artist mixing in his ball-handling with a lightning-quick release. No shot is out of the question, but even as a volume scorer he still shoots over from 40% from the field and the 3-point line.

His playmaking ability can be limited at times by turnovers, but this is an area he looks to improve at the next level. Ruffin will ideally fit into a system that lets him control the offense and playmaking, while also unleashing his defensive talents to create turnovers. A lot of programs on his final list support these needs, but will their rosters allow for Ruffin to have that impact once he steps foot on campus?
