Even though LaQuinton Ross didn’t do much to up his draft status when given the chance his Junior season, he still has enough of a well-rounded game, good size for a wing player, and a decent if not still improving jump shot that make him a top of the second round pick in this loaded draft.
There are concerns about Ross’s defense and his ability to create offense, which are valid, but he’s still young enough that he’s worth taking a flyer on for his shooting ability and 7-foot-1 wingspan. I’m not certain that he’s a better talent than say a Devyn Marble or Jabari Brown, but size means a lot to NBA GM’s and he’s as impressive as any wing you’ll see drafted in the second round. — Jared
