54. Philadelphia 76ers — Ioannis Papapetrou, SF, Olympiakos International

H: 6′ 8″ W: 233 lbs DOB: 03/30/1994

2013-14 Euroleague, Greek, Eurocamp, Eurocamp (39 GP) 4.9 PPG 2.3 RPG 0.6 APG 15.6 PER

We are talking about a complete project here. Even his Euroleague team doesn’t play him that much, so any team that selects Papapetrou is doing so on the assumption that he is going to improve vastly over the next two-three years. I don’t know if I can buy that, as he seems like a guy that if he ever did figure it out and reach his full potential, his rookie contract would be up by the time it did happen.

I wish — for the teams’ and his own sake — that Papapetrou waited one more year before he entered the NBA Draft. He just doesn’t offer anything to anyone who selects him other than a small glimmer of hope down the road — and you know what they say about hoping in one hand and a little something-something in the other, right? — Joe
