Oh Sacramento, where rookies go to never get developed.
This is another tough one. The Kings seem to be banking on the humorously talented, but troubled, Demarcus Cousins. So a natural big doesn’t seem to fit here. What they do need, though, is a player who can create his own shots, do a lot of other things, and, you know, be a legitimate good player. I don’t know if Doug McDermott can fill as many voids as Sacramento seems to need filled, but adding a coach’s son to a team full of directionless drones can be a solid idea.
The odd thing about the Kings is the fact that they aren’t horrible, at least from a talent standpoint. It is just that they have never seemed to mesh together properly. I don’t know if McDermott — or any other player — can help with that, but Dougie McBuckets feels like the safest pick for them.
Provided Sac-Town doesn’t simply attempt to just blow-up their entire roster. — Joe
