Five Most Bust Likely NBA Draft Prospects
By Joe Nardone
Tyler Ennis — Syracuse Orange
Mar 22, 2014; Buffalo, NY, USA; Syracuse Orange guard Tyler Ennis (11) drives to the basket as Dayton Flyers forward Dyshawn Pierre (21) in the second half of a men NBA Draft
Full disclosure: I don’t like Tyler Ennis as an NBA Draft prospect. I don’t think he will make it. I do believe his really good college season at a university as big as Syracuse has really made him overrated. I also think that I might be married to that idea just a little too much. Eh, I digress.
Ennis doesn’t fit the new bigger, athletic NBA point guard mold. At 6’2″, Ennis is already at a little disadvantage going to the next level. Not because of the size, but because he doesn’t have the athleticism to make up for it. A slew of other, smaller guards have made long careers in the NBA by making up a lack of huge stature by being athletic marvels. And, my friends, Tyler Ennis is not an athletic marvel.
He doesn’t shoot very well either (.41 percent from the floor). So, basically, you have a point guard who won’t get to the rim as easy as he did in college because he isn’t that athletic and he can’t shoot, which will result in teams playing a few feet off him. All of that. mind you, will make his ability to be a play maker not as substantial as his late game heroic highlights might make it seem he should be.
What do you say? Agree, disagree, think of other more NBA Draft bust probable players? Let us know or drink lukewarm milk. Either way, the NBA Draft is closing upon us!
