College Basketball: 8 Players Poised For Breakout Seasons

Delon Wright (Shooting Guard), Senior – Utah
Very rarely will you see a 15-5-5 player in a power conference returning for another year of college ball, but this is the case with the Ute’s Delon Wright.
The silky scorer from Los Angeles has his eyes set on an NCAA tournament bid, but in the process, he could be in line to garner Pac-12 and All-America honors. At least one advanced stat guru has tabbed Wright as the man who will emerge as the best player in college basketball this year.
There may not be much room to improve statistically, but Wright will make a jump in terms of his ability to help Utah close out the big wins that will make or break Utah’s tournament profile in March. Last year, Utah lost overtime games to Oregon, Arizona, and Colorado. Their inability to grab a marquee win made them a non-factor on Selection Sunday. This year, Delon Wright will make sure that the Utes dance in March.
